摘要: AIMS: (1) To investigate the immunohistochemical expression of multidrug resistance gene (MDR1) product P-glycoprotein in histological samples from 31 hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs); and (2) to correlate results with cell proliferation, p53 expression, disease-free interval, cumulative patient survival. METHODS: C219 (a monoclonal antibody), CM-1 polyclonal rabbit anti-human antibody) PC10 mouse were used detect P-glycoprotein, proliferating nuclear antigen (PCNA), respectively, by means avidin-biotin peroxidase method. RESULTS: Membrane bound positivity for was observed 20 (65%) HCCs. Cytoplasmic globular also seen some cases. There no significant associations between proliferation (determined PCNA immunoexpression mitotic count), or expression. Patients positive tumours had a shorter interval than those negative tumours, survival time. difference patients who not received chemotherapy, suggesting that chemotherapy (mainly mitomycin-C) did affect these patients. CONCLUSIONS: Expression HCCs is associated As p53, its effect on disease progression seems be independent factors.
