摘要: We report the 25.78-Gb/s operation of reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) for next-generation access network. For this purpose, we develop a butterfly-packaged RSOA and minimize electrical parasitics. As result, modulation bandwidth is improved from 2.2 to 3.2 GHz (which fundamental limit imposed by carrier lifetime). In addition, slope RSOA's frequency response curve enhanced -40 -20 dB/decade. Using RSOA, have demonstrated operation. The receiver sensitivity measured be -11 dBm with help electronic equalization forward-error-correction (FEC) techniques. To evaluate possibility implementing 100-Gb/s passive network (PON) using coarse wavelength-division-multiplexing (CWDM) technique, BER performance at four different wavelengths in C-band. results show that error-free transmission can achieved wavelength range 20 nm penalty less than 2 dB. Thus, realize PON cost-effectively utilizing directly modulated RSOAs operating 25 Gb/s.
