Experimental Investigations on Cryogenic Cooling in the Drilling of AISI 1045 Steel

摘要: In this study, experimental investigations were carried out in a drilling operation on medium-carbon steel material using conventional coolant and liquid nitrogen (LN2) separately. The variables the experiment cutting speed (V c) feed (f), while depth was maintained constant. temperature (T), thrust force (F t), surface roughness (R a) analyzed. results of indicate that there is 6% to 51% reduction when LN2 used. At lower rates, increased by 32% cooling conditions, at higher decreased 4% 8% conditions.
