摘要: Visceral leishmaniasis is endemic in several parts of Africa, the Indian subcontinent and Latin America. The disease also occurs sporadically China, Mediterranean basin, South West Asia southern USSR. Once overt symptoms have developed usually considered to be fatal if left untreated. No reliable figures are available for incidence infection though public health importance can judged by severity epidemic Bihar State, India, when 100, 000 cases were reported 197 7, followed next year a conservatively estimated 40, cases.
