The techniques tested were barbed staple, stone suture techniques, screw with spiked plastic washer, and plate.Cadaveric specimens classified into three distinct morphologic types: capsular, tendinous, extensor mechanism tissue. Each specimen fixed bone by one loaded in a cyclical fashion until failure occurred.One hundred thirty-seven trials performed. screws washer plate proved superior overall for all types. staple poorest technique tested. Therefore, if cyclic loading or tension is anticipated at site, choice would be plate.
