摘要: Abstract Latin America extends through the Southern region of North (Mexico), Central America, and South America. It comprises a huge diverse area its population is similarly diverse. There high variable degree admixture between Africans, Europeans, Native Americans, but percentage contribution each ancestry very different across American continents. Many countries in have (e.g., Mexico Peru), whereas others present higher African Brazil). Due to this fact, Americans cannot be considered single monolithic population, data from other populations are not accurate for being implemented individuals. This variation great importance pharmacogenomics studies implementation, because well known that ethnicity plays key role drug response. chapter reviews pharmacogenomic with an emphasis on Brazil Puerto Rico as educational examples highlight genetic admixture, including current landscape clinical implementation these populations. The knowledge unique characteristics could ultimately help establish public health policies develop specific guidelines highly admixed population.
