摘要: Vaccines against viral disease have traditionally relied on attenuated virus strains or inactivation of infectious virus. Subunit vaccines based proteins expressed in heterologous systems been effective for some pathogens, but often suffered from poor immunogenicity due to incorrect protein folding modification. In this chapter we focus a specific class subunit vaccine that mimics the overall structure particles and thus preserves native antigenic conformation immunogenic proteins. These virus-like (VLPs) produced wide range taxonomically structurally distinct viruses, unique advantages terms safety over previous approaches. With new VLP papillomavirus beginning reach market place argue technology has now ‘come-of-age’ must be considered viable strategy.
