A review of critical perspectives on private land conservation in academic literature

摘要: In recent years, private land conservation has increased in profile among policymakers and academics. Conservation initiatives on privately owned help to mitigate global biodiversity loss introduce new actors conservation. However, they have also been the subject of numerous critical accounts. This review catalogs issues that emerge literature, identifying 25 themes, classified into three groups: Implementation Effectiveness, Value Conflict, Economic Inefficiency. Gaps literature include need for broader geographic coverage; assessment issues’ specificity conservation; evaluation extent which reflect societal values. The literature’s strong emphasis value conflict suggests greater attention governance effectiveness may steer toward practices are more just, equitable, representative lead support. We recommend further research address identified gaps, with a orientation inclusive governance.
