摘要: #### Summary points Despite the decrease in prevalence of tobacco use developed countries, smoking remains most common preventable cause disease and death world today. Advice on cessation from doctors other health professionals has been shown to improve quit rates is highly cost effective.1 Given importance benefits cessation, every doctor should encourage attempts stop, be able provide brief intervention, aware referral options (see box 1).
