摘要: The status and potential functions of taurine in the retina have been reviewed. Taurine is present high concentrations all species tested, while retinal enzymes necessary to synthesize are presumed vary among those species. documented low activity cysteinesulfinic acid decarboxylase, a key enzyme biosynthesis, livers cat, monkey human possibly reflect their retinas, indicating reliance on diet as an important source taurine. Both high- low-affinity binding proteins uptake systems described for tissue. Evoked release by light other depolarizing stimuli well documented. Retinal pathologies including diminished ERGs morphologic changes reported animals man deficient Possible include: (1) protection photoreceptor - based shielding effects rod outer segments exposed chemicals; (2), regulation Ca2+ transport modulatory fluxes presence absence ATP; (3) signal transduction inhibitory protein phosphorylation.
