摘要: Abstract Background The onset of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) after oral immunotherapy (OIT) has been repeatedly described in patients with immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated food allergy recent years, but the relation between 2 conditions not fully assessed and quantified. Objective To provide a systematic review evidence for an association OIT EoE. Methods Electronic searches were performed keywords relating to EoE MEDLINE, EMBASE, SCOPUS databases. Summary estimates calculated. A fixed-effects model was used depending on heterogeneity ( I ). Risk publication bias by funnel plot analysis Egger test. Results search yielded 118 documents, 15 which included quantitative summary. Most reported information came from children undergoing peanut, milk, egg OIT. Significant favor studies reporting development documented. overall prevalence 2.7% (95% confidence interval 1.7%–4.0%, = 0%). Differences medium-to high-quality those low quality documented (3.5% vs 2.5%, respectively). often resolved discontinuation; histologic remission achieved allergen also whose topical fluticasone treatment failed. Conclusion New occurs up IgE-mediated this strategy. limited data utility as therapy prevent recommendation option.
