摘要: Background: Cigarette smoke has been identified as the main cause of oral cavity carcinoma. Recently, electronic cigarette, a battery-operated device, was developed to help smokers stop their tobacco addiction. This study aimed evaluate safety cigarettes and establish possible role such device in primary prevention cancer. Subjects Methods: included 65 subjects who were divided into three groups (smokers, e-cigarette smokers, nonsmokers). All submitted cytologic examination by scraping mucosa. The slides microscopically evaluated through micronucleus assay test. Results: prevalence micronuclei significantly decreased smoker group. There no statistically significant differences distribution according type gender, age. Conclusions: use seems be safe for cells should suggested an aid smoking cessation.
