摘要: The purpose of studying the epidemiology a particular cancer is principally twofold. First, to identify factors whose modification may reduce that cancer’s incidence and, secondly, more general aim, understand better mechanisms modify risk for in human populations. For esophagus, considerable success has been achieved attaining both aims. In some areas world specific have identified, control which would eliminate most disease. other areas, particularly where disease common, epidemiological evidence points overwhelmingly role environmental determining risk. It seems, however, not as simple as, example, cigarette smoking lung single factor major determinant High esophageal usually results from interaction several factors, host or tissue susceptibility. Elucidating mechanism by these interactions operate should only provide insight into how practical intervention might be achieved, but also serve model carcinogenesis humans. this chapter give supporting conclusions, presenting worldwide occurrence and reviewing many analytic studies performed.
