摘要: Steady state glucose turnover was measured in 53 conscious, unrestrained neonatal piglets by two different methods using 3H-labelled as the tracer. In first, model-dependent method, plasma tracer concentrations following a spike injection of were fitted various ways and calculated from area under curve extrapolated to infinity. Both exponential curves negative power functions time non-linear least squares. second, model-independent infused continuously its equilibrium concentration. Conditions during 34 experiments failed tests steady data therefore discarded. remaining 19, agreed fairly well. Although there little difference between results obtained two-exponential fit, those when fast component ignored, single fitting function time, conventional is be preferred. There suggestion that at high rates, result underestimated infusion result, assuming latter represent reference method. This might have been due extrapolation errors technique, either first few minutes injection, or interval after last sample. However, notional volumes distribution suggest terminal phase elimination fact slightly faster than predicted on basis samples taken 120 min post-injection.
