Rapid HIV Testing on the College Campus: Comparing Traditional and Outreach Models

摘要: The purpose of this study was to compare rapid HIV testing services on a college campus between clinic-based group and an outreach-based group. Study participants were 1,233 individuals who underwent counseling testing. Questionnaires assessed demographics transmission risk behaviors. Results indicate that testers more likely be younger, female, African American relative testers. Overall, 100% 99.5% receiving their test results. All with positive results received confirmatory blood entered medical care within one week preliminary diagnosis. College campuses may provide unique setting deliver help increase the percentage young people are aware serostatus, particularly students less undergo in traditional clinic settings.
