摘要: Given the development of global pressures on habitats and biodiversity, it is important that developments are accompanied with a compensation element leading to ‘no net loss’. We show how (using standardised sampling process) statistical assessment biodiversity quality target organisms (birds) in compensatory provision can be shown or not. used example Cardiff Bay Barrage (Wales) where bay was inundated site at Newport Gwent Levels created. Bird data for prior inundation following were analysed create series indices these compared statistically. The analysis showed habitat better than original. Results poor Dunlin Redshank, already subject regional decline Severn Estuary estuaries NW Europe.
