摘要: There is an increasing demand to develop novel approaches for the treatment of a large number chronic degenerative diseases affecting primarily aging population and where there currently no effective therapy, e.g., Parkinson’s disease, liver failure, diabetes, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis. An emerging therapeutic approach management these conditions cell therapy or cellular therapeutics organ functions are restored through transplanting healthy, functional cells. Stem cells, because their nature, considered most suitable cells therapy. As mentioned in other chapters this book, gene aims at modifying specific characteristics target with possible effects. Thus, combining stem provides additional useful dimension use treatment. Stromal (mesenchymal) being introduced into clinical trials due ease isolation efficacy treating disease animal preclinical models. Also, studies that have tested genetically modified mesenchymal (MSC) functionality vivo. The aim chapter review potential gene-modified particular MSC, challenges facing practice.
