An overview of reconfigurable hardware in embedded systems

摘要: Over the past few years, realm of embedded systems has expanded to include a wide variety products, ranging from digital cameras, sensor networks, medical imaging systems. Consequently, engineers strive create ever smaller and faster many which have stringent power requirements. Coupled with increasing pressure decrease costs time-to-market, design constraints pose serious challenge designers. Reconfigurable hardware can provide flexible efficient platform for satisfying area, performance, cost, requirements This article presents an overview reconfigurable computing in systems, terms benefits it provide, how already been used, issues, hurdles that slowed its adoption.
