摘要: Compositions with improved particle transport in mucus are provided. In some embodiments, the compositions and methods involve making mucus-penetrating particles (MPP) without any polymeric carriers, or minimal use of carriers. The may include modifying surface coatings formed pharmaceutical agents that have a low water solubility. Such can be used to achieve efficient though barriers body for wide spectrum applications, including drug delivery, imaging, diagnostic applications.
