摘要: Abstract: Habitat corridors have become popular in land-use plans and conservation strategies, yet few data are available to either support or refute their value. Simberloff Cox (1987) criticized what they consider an uncritical acceptance of planning. Any reasonable strategy must address the overwhelming problem habitat fragmentation. Although use island analogies illustrate advantages isolation, these do not apply directly problems landscape planning. Genetics also does offer unequivocal advice, but life histories wide-ranging animals (eg., Florida panther) suggest that maintenance restoration connectivity is a prudent strategy. Translocation individuals among reserves—considered by viable alternative natural dispersal—is impractical for whole communities species likely suffer from related fragmentation. Many potential disadvantages could be avoided mitigated enlatging cowidor width applying ecologically sound zoning regulations. Corridors solution all our problems, nor should used as justification small reserves. But can cost-effective complement large multiple reserves real-life landscapes.
