摘要: Allogeneic umbilical cord blood (UCB) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has become a crucial advancement in the treatment for variety of diseases including and non-hematopoietic malignancies, BM failure syndromes, hemoglobinopathies, metabolic immunodeficiency disorders. It been well documented that success UCB engraftment is tied to banking processes, now there are established guidelines standardization collection, banking, processing, cryopreservation unrelated units with purpose achieving consistent production high quality placental administration. In 2011, Canada's Ministry Health announced first national, publicly funded bank, which aims provide altruistic donations allogeneic transplant. this chapter, we describe specific protocols clinical cryopreservation, storage used by Canadian Blood Services National Public Umbilical Cord Bank.
