摘要: This paper presents a case study in computer-assisted tolerancing with the configuration space method. We analyze part of gear selector mechanism an automotive automatic transmission. The model contains three complex parts about one hundred functional parameters. analysis, which takes less lhan minute on workstation, indicates that critical kinematic variation occurs third and identifies parameters cause variation. analysis program handles general planar systems curved contact changes, including open closed chains. It computes worst-case system function detects potential failure modes due to unex.pected qualitative variations function, such as jamming. constructs models pairs then derives by composing pair models.
