摘要: Studies of limb lengthening have demonstrated successful bone formation in the distraction gap. Failure muscle units to lengthen leads many complications that significantly limit success this approach; it is, therefore, paramount importance characterize behavior during lengthening. In study, tibiae adult rabbits were lengthened for 10 days at a rate 1 mm/day. The proliferative ability was characterized using bromodeoxyuridine, thymidine analogue is incorporated cell division, and desmin, muscle-specific marker. We observed large number proliferating cells, specifically muscle, co-localized with desmin-positive cells. presence bromodeoxyuridine nuclei inside desminpositive fibers suggests promotes growth by triggering myoblast proliferation fusion into Our findings are consistent those other studies reviewed literature, also suggest growth.
