摘要: The abundance and indiscriminate disposal of scrap tyres inurban areas in Nigeria create serious health environmentalproblems. potential using rubber recycled from scraptyres as an absorbent crude oil clean up was investigated.Rubber particles mesh sizes within the range 0.15 to2.36 mm were used to absorb at different temperatures(5 40 °C). rapid increase absorption withinthe first 20 min followed by a much slower rate, with theequilibrium being attained after 30 min. Theequilibrium increased decreasing particle sizeand temperature absorption. At °C, for more than twice that 2.36 size. When regenerated recycledrubber used, equilibrium decreased about15–40%. extent reduction higher largerparticles lower
