摘要: Inherited microorganisms that manipulate the reproduction of their host are a common feature in arthropod biology. Although research initially concentrated on why these manipulations were observed, more recent study has emphasized profound effects they may have ecology and evolution host. We review natural history evolutionary inherited reproductive parasites, before examining impact evolution. posit sex-ratio distorting sometimes dominate host's microevolution ecology, driving extremely rapid selection, altering molecular landscape, potentially causing conserved systems such as sex determination. The importance symbionts inducing cytoplasmic incompatibility lies barriers to gene flow can produce, which then contribute isolation speciation. Throughout, we link theory with empirical data, point areas ignorance, identify promising avenues future research.
