摘要: Abstract Red mud (RM) is a highly alkaline, saline and sodic solid by-product released by alumina industries, which pose an economical environmental problem establishment of vegetation on these sites big challenge. In the present study, fungus RM-28 exhibiting high tolerance to alkaline (pH 12), saline/sodic (NaCl 4%) was isolated from RM flooded rhizosphere soil bermudagrass tested its ability reduce toxicity promote growth sorghum-sudangrass seedlings. This also exhibited heavy metal(loid)s (HMs) desirable plant growth-promoting traits. identified as Trichoderma asperellum based internal transcribed spacer (ITS) rDNA translation elongation factor-1α (TEF 1α) gene analysis. effective in reducing pH solubilizing tricalcium phosphate under conditions vitro. Further, inoculation significantly lowered EC red 11.8 8.2 2.23 1.42, respectively. Inoculation improved growth, chlorophyll content reduced oxidative stress seedlings grown leachate. These observations suggest that T. serves potential source for mud/red contaminated soils.
