摘要: Abstract The effect of a high axial magnetic field (up to 12 T) on the microstructure in directionally solidified Al–Al2Cu eutectic alloy has been investigated experimentally. results show that decreases spacing and degenerates lamellar structure into wavy one at low growth speed. X-ray diffraction, selected-area electron diffraction high-resolution microscopy analyses indicate changes preferred orientation. Al2Cu crystal is oriented with 〈0 0 1〉-crystal direction along solidification (i.e., direction). At pulling velocity 0.5 μm/s, (B ⩾ 4T) responsible for segregation; which consists Al striations longitudinal section Al-rich zones transverse section. effects may be attributed orientation crystals decrease diffusion coefficient caused by field.
