摘要: Sustainable management of materials and products requires continuous evaluation numerous complex social, ecological, economic factors. A number tools methods are emerging to support this. One the most rigorous is life-cycle assessment (LCA). But LCAs often lack a sustainability perspective bring about difficult trade-offs between specificity depth, on one hand, comprehension applicability, other. This article applies framework for strategic sustainable development (often referred as The Natural Step (TNS) framework) based backcasting from basic principles sustainability. aim foster new general approach products, here termed “strategic management.” includes informing overall analysis with aspects that relevant (1)sustainability, (2) strategy arrive at resulting overview expected help avoid costly assessments flows practices not critical and/or identify gaps in knowledge or potential problems need further assessment. Early experience indicates can complement some existing concepts by them perspective—for example, current product LCA tools.
