Relations between transverse electric fields and field-aligned currents

摘要: A model for the field-aligned propagation of transverse electric fields and associated sheet currents is presented which takes into account wave nature process. The applied to separate cases ionospheric magnetospheric sources, resulting field current ratios are determined comparison with experimental observations. It found that 'conductivity' shear mode Alfven waves small respect typical values height-integrated Pedersen conductivity. For plasma convecting across a stationary disturbance dynamic equilibrium achieved in flow continuously away from source on lines. Consistency requires limited around 0.1 A/m polarization while sources easily capable 1 or more.
