摘要: Pakistan's stated policy is to increase basmati rice production through price support measures and liberalization of input markets. The present study assesses the scope for achieve growth targets whether additional assistance needed from non-price measures. econometric analysis based on a profit function using farm household survey data Punjab. Pakistan 1995–1996. results reveal that targets, very high prices are required. Since these levels may not be feasible, more appropriate option involve some inducements expand paddy area allocated modern varieties. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
