An Analysis of the Sources of Wheat Output Growth in the Barani Area of the Punjab

摘要: A time-varying efficiency effects approach using district level data of wheat in barani Punjab is used to disintegrate output growth into different sources. The results show that grew at an annual rate 2.71 percent under conditions, during the period study. Technological change was main driving force, sharing about 107 th?c growth, while changing inputs contributed negatively by 10 and contribution less than 4 percent. On other hand, irrigated increased 4.7 per annum region; which 65 percent, 1.3 34 were attributable technological change, efficiency, increase inputs. As regards overall region Punjab, it 2.97 - 84 shared lands remaining 16 region. One common result observed both conditions productivity (the sum change) showed declining trends exclusively due negative technical efficiency.
