A rare presentation of splenic tuberculosis with a pseudocyst.

摘要: Splenic tuberculosis is an unusual manifestation of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, especially in immunocompetent hosts. It often poses diagnostic difficulties as microbiological confirmation not easy. In this case report, we describe a pseudocyst the spleen due to which rare clinical presentation with only one having been reported previously.1 A 24-year-old woman presented pain abdomen, vomiting and fever. On evaluation patient was found have cyst arising from spleen. Splenectomy performed. Pathological examination specimen revealed granulomas giant cells consistent tuberculosis. Cyst fluid analysis lymphocyte predominance high adenosine deaminase levels. The started on 6 months antituberculous therapy postoperatively. follow-up, gained weight showed signs well-being.
