摘要: Brown and Harris (1978) contend that life events have causal significance for both ‘psychotic’ ‘neurotic’ depression. This contradicts the psychiatric tradition. ‘Neurotic’ depression has been regarded as a consequence of life-stress, while processes intrinsic to organism. Empirical evidence is presented support view differential effect, within general population. It argued Harris's conclusion follows from an inappropriate approach classification. further their data lend traditional view. noted may inhibit development explanatory models linking vulnerability factors
