Protective role of extracts of grape skin and grape flesh on ethanol-induced oxidative stress, inflammation and histological alterations in rat brain.

摘要: Ethanol consumption has deleterious effects on all organs and especially brain. In our study, the radical scavenging properties of grape skin flesh (contains natural antioxidants like polyphenols) was determined in vitro for vivo studies, male Wistar rats (16-18 week-old) 100-120 gm weight were divided five groups six animals each. One group fed with ethanol (1.6 gm/kg body weight), while second (1.6 g/kg weight) extract (2.5 g/kg third extract, daily once 12 weeks, fourth tocopheryl acetate (80 mg/kg/day) weeks. Results studies indicate that extracts showed significant (ROS). There also significantly alteration serum cytokines study.
