A radioimmunoassay for cytosine arabinoside

摘要: A radioimmunoassay (RIA) for cytosine arabinoside (AraC) has been developed using antiserum raised in a sheep to an AraC monophosphate-ovalbumin conjugate. The antibody shows only 0.008% cross-reactivity with uracil (AraU) and low (0.023%) other commonly co-administered drugs such as cytotoxic antibacterial agents, also number of naturally occurring nucleosides nucleotides. It does however cross-react by 125% monophosphate 109% triphosphate. As little 1 ng/ml can be detected plasma, serum, urine cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) no need prior extraction. This RIA used follow the disappearance from plasma patients receiving drug.
