摘要: Long-term results after prosthetic heart valve replacement are usually presented in actuarial terms, which do not take into account the background mortality of general population. The calculations relative survival, is ratio between observed survival a group patients during specified time interval and expected from population experience, permit correction for important demographic variables. We have analysed long-term rates consecutive series 841 Norwegian who, on basis clinical symptoms, underwent aortic (A VR,n = 617), mitral (MVR, n 146), double VR + MVR, 78) June 1977 January 1985. follow-up was closed May 1st 1986, 100% complete included 2056 patient-years. data total cohort 75-1%, AVR, MVR DVR, 77–9, 69–7 63-0%, respectively. corresponding figures were 83–5,87–0, 76–6 and69l%, Within subgroup undergoing A VR, our analysis demonstrated poor prognosis those who operated pure regurgitation or endocarditis, as well received smallest size prosthesis due to narrow root. In this analysis, material, we that differences smaller magnitude when based than standard (actuarial) way. Patients aged λ30 years AVR achieved normalized pattern observation period. > 70 had first three postoperative years, could be partly explained by pre-operative patient selection.
