However, work this area remains only very sparse. We here underline importance such a calculation, briefly present feasible estimation method (that attributable fractions) its limitations. This uses epidemiological data relative risk disease associated with given factor, prevalence exposure to factor. difficulties revolve around need for robust consistent from prospective large-sample etiological studies. estimates provide useful information decision-making regarding allocation resources prevention purposes.
