Peripheral nerve stimulator for the treatment of supraorbital neuralgia: a retrospective case series

摘要: Peripheral nerve blocks of the supraorbital, supratrochlear or occipital have been utilized for relief headaches, although may be short-lasting. The purpose this study was to evaluate efficacy supraorbital stimulation treatment intractable neuralgia. Patients presenting pain clinic with refractory frontal headaches who responded a diagnostic block were selected case series. underwent trial stimulation, and assessed after 5-7 days (n = 16). From trial, 10 patients consented undergo permanent implantation stimulator. Opioid consumption headache scores monitored preoperatively at timed intervals 30 weeks. Headache decreased, opioid reduced in half, these beneficial accomplishments maintained up weeks implantation. In patients, chronic appears efficacious.
