摘要: The Patient Satisfaction Instrument (PSI) was developed over a series of five clinical and administrative studies during period eight years, with total 600 patients, primarily medical-surgical inpatients outpatients. process illustrates measurement precision by replication. PSI is Likert-type summated rating scale three dimensions patient satisfaction: technical-professional care, trust, education. It adapted for use from Risser's out-patient instrument. Internal consistency estimates appear satisfactory stable across the various studies; example, alpha coefficients Technical-Professional subscale average .79, Education .78, Trust .88. Interitem, item-subscale, interscale correlations corroborate alphas. Construct validity were made via convergent/discriminant technique, discriminance, predictive modeling. Empirical moderately substantiated multiple, predictions. Discriminance strongly documented all but subscale, which had modest support. Predictive modeling produced moderate to strong estimates. Overall, has acceptable levels reliability refinements indicated.
