Clinical and Diagnostic Features in Three Dogs Naturally Infected with Borrelia spp.

摘要: The aim of this study was to present clinical and neurological signs, laboratory abnormalities, serologic and/or molecular findings in three dogs from the region Brno Czech Republic. All were naturally infected with Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato. evidence borrelial infection proved by serial blood sampling for IgM IgG anti-borrelial antibodies or plasma PCR. manifested corresponding signs one more following criteria fulfilled: (1) 4-fold greater increase decrease B. s. l. titres acute convalescent stage infection, (2) a shift positive titres, (3) concurrent (4) detection DNA Other possible tick-borne infections excluded. showed (two them meningoencephalomyelitis, seizure connected progressive renal disease). Their history, diagnostic procedures treatment are described. Two died only meningoencephalomyelitis survived. Our results show that must be taken into consideration, not cases febrile orthopaedic but also many other syndromes.
