摘要: Our earlier studies on ticks, Ixodes ricinus have demonstrated that the north-western part of Poland is an endemic area for Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato and therefore sick dogs, at time highest activity should be suspected having borreliosis. We carried out a preliminary PCR survey blood 15 dogs naturally exposed ticks presence DNA B. using primers complementary to fragment gene encoding 16S rRNA small ribosome subunit. found 6 were infected, although 2 had lameness - attribute canine borreliosis PCR-negative. findings suggest exposure common in region declared borreliosis, this disease important local veterinarians.
