摘要: The metabolic syndrome is associated with increased risk of diabetes and coronary heart disease. Although higher BMI other related factors have been frequently colorectal cancer, whether the cancer unclear. We therefore assessed association in a subsample participants Women's Health Initiative who had repeated measurements components at baseline during follow-up. Women enrollment were excluded. Cox proportional hazards models used to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) time-dependent analyses. Among 4862 eligible women, 81 incident cases identified over median follow-up 12 years. Presence was (HR 2.15, CI 1.30-3.53) colon 2.28, 1.31-3.98). These associations largely explained by positive serum glucose systolic blood pressure both outcomes. Time-dependent covariate analyses supported findings. Our results suggest that accounted for levels pressure. biological mechanism underlying these remains be clarified.
