摘要: Long-term potentiation (LTP) of synaptic transmission is considered to be a neuronal model learning. Recently, the probability induction associative LTP in layer V cells sensorimotor neocortex was shown much higher awake cat than slice preparation. We hypothesised that loss extrinsic noradrenergic activity might account for this difference, particularly since beta-adrenergic enhancement field potentials has been seen therefore bath-applied noradrenaline (NA) or beta 1-adrenergic agonist, isoprenaline (ISO) elucidate cellular basis potentials, and see if drugs increased slices. found NA ISO produced dose-dependent, reversible reduction spike accommodation an increase excitability but had no effect on depolarizing slope peak amplitude sub-threshold EPSPs, drug application did not LTP. conclude that: (1) late components EPSPs (7) can explained by known actions membrane currents cells, (2) lower slices cf. cannot due solely activity.
