Chemical composition and phosphate uptake kinetics of limnetic bacterial communities cultured in chemostats under phosphorus limitation

摘要: Natural bacterial communities were grown in chemostats diluted with filtered lake water manipulated to yield phosphorus limitation. The results suggested P limitation of the bacteria when : C and surplus ratios between 17–120 2.7–100 µg P(mg C)−1, respectively. These high values indicate that heterotrophic are net consumers phosphate they sequester a considerably higher fraction particulate lakes than expected from their biomass terms carbon.
