摘要: Several studies confirm the operation of contextual contrast effects on judgments physical attractiveness others. The present experiment was conducted to determine whether also occur self-evaluations attractiveness. Fifty-one female college students rated their own and body-parts satisfaction following exposure same-sexed stimulus persons who either were not physically attractive, or designated as attractive professional models. predicted effect supported for self-perceived but body satisfaction. Consistent with social comparison theory, subjects gave lower self-ratings in versus professionally context. Correlational analyses indicated that self-rated related several personality variables.
