摘要: Administration of neuropeptide Y (NPY) intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) results in the release a number hypothalamic and pituitary hormones stimulation feeding suppression sexual behavior. In this study, we sought to identify cellular sites NPY action by evaluating perikaryal Fos-like immunoreactivity (FLI), marker activation, those extrahypothalamic previously implicated control neuroendocrine function Additionally, compared topography FLI these brain when food was either available ad libitum or withheld after injection (1 nmol/3 microliters, i.c.v.). The showed that one hour larger cells parvocellular region paraventricular nucleus (PVN) were FLI-positive absence consumption. However, association with intake, significant intensely stained magnocellular PVN. An analogous increase apparent supraoptic (SON), dorsomedial bed stria terminalis hypothalamus. Among sites, facilitated large located lateral subdivision central amygdaloid solitary tract. observed moderate arcuate (ARC) ventromedial nucleus, response not changed feeding.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
