摘要: Abstract Small ceramic particles are known to enhance the mechanical and tribological properties of polymers. Introduced into an epoxy resin, filler morphology, size, particle amount dispersion homogeneity influence extensively composite's performance. In present study, various amounts micro- nano-scale (calcium silicate CaSiO3, 4–15 μm, alumina Al2O3, 13 nm) were systematically introduced polymer matrix for reinforcement purposes. The these on impact energy, flexural strength, dynamic thermal block-on-ring wear behavior was investigated. If nanoparticles incorporated only, they yield effective improvement resin at a nanoparticle content already 1–2 vol.% Al2O3. Choosing nanocomposite with highest performance as matrix, conventional CaSiO3 microparticles further added in order achieve additional enhancements properties. fact, synergistic effects found form increase resistance stiffness. Several reasons explain terms reinforcing mechanisms discussed.
