Industrial applications of PACVD hard coatings

摘要: Transition metal nitride based hard coatings are widely applied in cutting, however, there still drawbacks forming processes limiting their implementation. The aim of this study is thus to discuss deposition suitable for coating the often large and three-dimensional molds dies used forming. Furthermore, results obtained using different industrial applications several case studies like aluminum pressure die-casting, plastics injection molding sheet presented discussed. For best performance, a careful optimization both substrate pre-treatment necessary. plasma-assisted chemical vapor (PACVD) technique shows advantages these because high flexibility etching plasma-nitriding, its ability coat complexly shaped tools possibility low-chlorine containing low-friction coatings. Typical factors increase lifetime die-casting between 2 4, more than 10 deep drawing 13 with respect uncoated tools.
