摘要: Failure to sustain positive affect over time is a hallmark of depression and other psychopathologies, but the mechanisms supporting ability emotional responses are poorly understood. Here, we investigated neural correlates associated with persistence in real world by conducting two experiments humans: an fMRI task reward experience-sampling measuring obtained field. The magnitude DLPFC engagement rewards administered laboratory predicted reactivity real-world emotion following Sustained ventral striatum positively duration responses. These results suggest that common pathways unfolding processes seconds dynamics emotions experienced minutes. Examining such may facilitate better understanding brain-behavior associations underlying emotion. SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT How emotion, seconds, minutes, hours, instantiated brain course milliseconds unknown. We combined novel, examine how individual differences minutes subserved affective neurodynamics activity seconds. When winning money world, individuals sustaining longest were those most prolonged striatal activity. emotion.
