摘要: Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a rare fatal complication of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) resulting from chronic immunosuppression and impaired cellular immunity. This report discusses 2 cases PML in patients with acute myeloid leukemia after BMT. Diagnosis was made based on characteristic brain MRI findings positive PCR results for John Cunningham virus the cerebrospinal fluid. Unfortunately, therapeutic options are limited nearly always result terminal outcomes. Although an unavoidable risk BMT, these highlight rare, yet fatal, consequence prolonged T-cell lymphopenia immunity BMT this patient population.
